Philosophy of Humanature
Philosophy of human nature is the study of how people think and feel, and how their actions are motivated. It is highly interdisciplinary, drawing on philosophy, psychology, sociology, anthropology, biology and other disciplines.
The discipline has a long history in western society. Early Greek philosophers such as Plato and Aristotle attempted to explain the nature of being human. In his Nicomachean Ethics (1094b), Aristotle claimed that man is a political animal. The notion that man is by nature a social animal came from Greek philosopher Plato’s book The Republic (Book II).
